Quantum physics is described as the “science of possibilities”. We are learning about particles fluctuating in and out of existence, about our “stuff” that is not as solid as it seems, about bits of matter being in two places at one time. Does any of this make sense or do you feel like your head is exploding? Heisenberg himself, the co-discoverer of quantum physics, said that atoms are not things; they are only tendencies. We choose moment by moment to bring our actual experience into manifestation as the world around us is constantly changing. Even if we don’t yet grasp what Quantum Mechanics is currently offering, it is obvious that consciousness is at the core of all of this. Most of all, our choices and the endless possibilities that exist and create our experience may be all we need to examine (for now).
A great amount of human suffering is created but our limited recognition of possibilities and thus our choices. We get “stuck” in unpleasant jobs, relationships, habits and perspectives, often disregarding the alternatives that the infinite number of possibilities holds. As a matter of fact, our daily frustrations and irritations have a whole lot to do with perceived limits.
Whether you’re a megalomaniac or an expert in self-deprecation, consider that the statements you make to yourself and others are simply a fraction of what’s possible. Take ANY of them (right now, yes) and see if there may be another possibility for it, another version, angle or option. How many can you come up with?
Ever bump up against another person’s opinion? Ever have a different idea of how your reality should be vs how it is? Ever worried whether you made the right decision? Ever held judgement about a stranger on the street, something on TV, or how your environment should be?
Consider this: YOUR current version of what and how the world should be is only ONE possibility. Of many. Of an endless string. If you truly consider this, maybe getting your way during the next disagreement you have with your spouse, boss or neighbor may actually not be all that important anymore. After all, your way is only ONE way. So everyone has their way, their pick of the possibility pool, and the world will keep turning… probably much smoother if we don’t get stuck in our limited possibilities.
