Throwing Stones at Britney

Britney Spears at the VMA

Britney Spears got covered… well, her performance at Sunday’s Video Music
Awards surely did. Every column on the web has obviously torn her to shreds after she didn’t come back quite the same. Watch the video and you will find some truth to the harsh words in the media: She seemed tired, lacking confidence, with poorly executed dance moves, out-of-synch lip-synching and just not her spunky self. True.

This 25-year old woman has performed for most of her life, rose to stardom with relentless hard work since childhood, then got chewed up and spit out by the media over the past couple of years when her personal life started (or continued) to fall apart. Can anybody give her some credit puh-lease? To be clear: I am not a fan, not of her music or anything else. However, when behind-the-computer-caffeeine-addict-donut-eating critics write about her "flabby physique" I just want to grab’em by the neck through my screen and say "Bite me! She gave birth to two children, is dealing with custody battles, alcohol, nervous breakdowns - and still has the drive, skill and courage to take on a performance like this (especially now!)- what have you done lately?"

Yes, I’d say cover the underwear with a flattering killer outfit and take a break! There is certainly more for her out there, yet the money-making entertainment machine seems to hardly want to let go of what she was a few years ago instead of letting her evolve. Time for a vision quest, maybe? :-)

Hey! Just two things…I LOVE the bio onyourself! Thank you for the encouraging words. this is related to the Brittany bit, b/c I (like Brittany) have had 2 childsren, as you know, and no longer look the way I looked at 21 or even at 23 or 25! AS 32 approaches, and I wish to become pregnant again soon, I must get back into shape. I did really well last Spring and lost 20 pounds…I’ve gained 4 back, but restarted my committment to loose the flab last week. So far so good. I have to cut out the white foods, my mid-wife told me this was the trick a year ago. I just love potatoes, and it is a hard habit to break…but one that is worth the trouble I guess. Hope to see you guys soon! Thanks for the positive input each month…Ireally need it to keep grounded!
